Jessica [userpic]
nice daddy visit

Hello,
I had my weekly visit with Jackson today. Very pleasant. I held him for most of the time down there. He is still coughing but not as bad. They plan on moving him out of PICU today or tomorrow so that means he should be coming home soon.
As many of you know, Sara and I have made many friends via the internet since learning about Jackson(thanks to Jessica). Unfortunately, one of the families we have been keeping track of has lost their son. He passed away this afternoon. I know that once Jackson is home and growing up, we will be looking at him and realizing how lucky we are. As hard as it is to deal with everything with Jackson, I can't imagine being one of the parents that loses their child to HLHS.
Once again all of you have been great support and great friends for us.
Thank you
Jake

Added note from Jessica:
If anyone would like to leave a message for Porter's family, they can do so on Porter's mom's blog on MySpace, if you have it, at: http://blog.myspace.com/northern__girl
If you do not have MySpace and would like to leave a message you can do so on Jackson's journal, this entry: http://community.livejournal.com/jacksonsheart/28024.html And I will pass them on.
There has also been a candle memorial site set up for Porter, where you can go and light a candle for him:  http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=PJE
Porter had an amazing journey with HLHS and a heart transplant, and there are so many people that were honored and blessed to have been a part of his short life.
