town for a week, tonight through next Sunday. Updates will still be
posted to the journal by my mom, but the main web pages won't be updated
until I get back. If there is anything regarding the benefit that needs
immediate attention, you can send an email to my mom, Sue, at
email@example.com, otherwise just email it to me,
firstname.lastname@example.org, and I'll take care of it when I get back.
We've gotten some great items for the auction so far, and are hoping for
many more in the next couple months! If you haven't seen it yet, here
is the full list:
Also, I went to see Jackson at the hospital last night. He is looking
ok, could be better but could be worse. He was awake the whole time I
was there and very squirmy. Looked like he just wanted to get out of
there and start playing! (He is 5 months old now!) He also looked
determined to grab the breathing tube. Unfortunately, because of that,
they do have his hands restrained a little, just enough that he can't
reach his face. (Socks probably wouldn't work anymore, if he can figure
out how to wriggle out of them.) He can still wave them around though!
He was very alert, eyes looking around all over the place. He looks
much better active than when they have to sedate him, that's for sure.
He is a little puffy from extra fluid, but he has a drainage tube that
is helping with that. They did remove the breathing tube yesterday, but
he didn't handle it well enough so they had to put it back in. Still
haven't figured out exactly what the problem is this time. They are
happy because he is peeing again, which is a good sign. (If your body
doesn't produce waste, that means there is something wrong.) Hopefully
he gets all better soon and can go back home! As of right now he's just
steady. Keep the prayers going!
I also wanted to say a general THANK YOU to all that have posted
comments to these posts, I know it means a lot to Jake and Sara that so
many people are praying for Jackson. I know they probably don't have
the time right now to respond personally to everyone, especially this
past week with Jackson back in the hospital, but I do forward the
notifications to them so they know.
